Visit the “Welcome en Limousin” stand for an introduction to the beautiful, tranquil and undiscovered Limousin region in South-West France, with its three departments (Haute-Vienne, Creuse and Correze) and its vibrant capital Limoges, well-known for its porcelain and enamels industries.
The Limousin landscape is famous for its green and forested hills, the numerous valleys, lakes and rivers - ideal for activity pursuits, sports and adventures. There are fascinating architectural treasures to visit such as castles, churches, abbeys, museums as well as several of the “Beaux Villages de France”.
There are lively street markets to browse, tasty local produce in the restaurants and ferme auberges to try and many leisure activities to choose from in Limousin's towns and villages.
“Welcome en Limousin®” is a non-profit organization created in 2002 to promote local tourism and economy, principally to foreign visitors using Limoges International Airport (the main airport for the region). The welcome desk representative meets all arrivals within the terminal and can offer advice to tourists, people looking to settle permanently and/or entrepreneurs looking to establish a business in the Limousin.
Under the “Welcome en Limousin®” charter, the network of about 70 professionals is committed to welcoming UK visitors in English to help with accommodation, restaurants, tourism, leisure, shops, housing, services and with other organizations.
